A few months ago we met Elyssa Mannina at the Tucker Rocky 50th anniversary event in Texas. Elyssa is a product designer for Speed and Strength and we chatted about her goals for their latest women’s gear.
New in 2017 is the COMIN’ IN HOT™ YOGA-MOTO PANTS. Seen on the cover of Modern Moto’s May issue, these Yoga-Moto pants answer the call of female riders who would normally ride unprotected in standard leggings. They can get the same form-fitted look with these riding pants plus the benefit of some hidden slide protection. The “performance casual” riding pants’ shell is a nylon blend with 4-way stretch and the knees and seat have a reinforced armamid lining. If you are like us and prefer armor and more Kevlar, check out the TRUE ROMANCE™ ARMOURED STRETCH JEANS by Speed and Strength.
I couldn’t let this opportunity pass without asking Elyssa about the fit issues with their past line of women’s jeans; she assures me those issues were thoroughly reviewed and remedied, including adding stretch and removing seams. After trying on the Yoga-Moto pants, I would have to agree.
Throughout the latest women’s product line, Elyssa and Speed and Strength focused on gear that looks good and is comfortable on and off the bike. Elyssa mentioned that even though anything pink is a top-seller, they have introduced new colors that coordinate from the helmets to the riding shoes. Elyssa gains inspiration from the interesting gear and apparel colors she has seen in the skiing, snow-boarding and wake-boarding communities.
